The Visitors

They came to stay

First one, then another
One up and one down
They stopped for a while
Then, came back later

Mysteries abound as the plot thickens
Those stays become longer
They once drove in and then drove out
Each day they become less visible

Nice car, and sits a lot
No longer in the driver’s seat
Who is that?
Someone else drives now

Now there are two
Both came and went
Both have not seen in recent times
Nice cars, they sit a lot

Others come and go, but not these visitors
Where they be?
Or is it just me?
Yes, it’s just me…maybe

The door’s wide open
Looks dark inside
Who’s there?
Awful quiet, I can hear my heart

Something doesn’t look right
Call out, but no answer
Poke around, yes, this is creepy
The feeling is uneasy

Hello, anybody home?
Dead silence
This room has a strange feel
Maybe I should just step away

One last look downstairs
Oh, what have we here?
A freezer, and then another
Oh, and one more

It’s dark, such a bad feeling
Maybe just leave and close the doors
But, maybe just take a quick look
Just freezers, right?

Hesitatingly open the lid
Just freezers, right?
One set of frozen eyes, then another, and then another
More than just freezers

Oh my, what have I found?
More than just freezers
Packed like a suitcase
Chilled to the bone(s)

What open doors?
Don’t look back
Nice cars, they sit a lot
The visitors, they came to stay
