So many steps
Lost track of most of them
Some remembered, some forgotten
The rest were left buried on the trail
No map to show the way
Just following the stars
Navigating by instinct
A sense of direction that began in another time
Footprints of others on these trails
The journey for them started in other lifetimes
Never glancing back to to see what they left
Step to the side as they pass through
With destinations undefined
Their travels are far from done
Time is irrelevant, it just goes on
They will know when they get there
A momentary pause along the way
Just not here to stay
The gatekeepers pass them through
While others wait their turn
They have walked this way before
It’s just another time
There will be others, in other times
Follow their footsteps, if you dare
Fear has no room on this journey
Looking back won’t clear the way
